The charrette starts by lecture on Solar Geometry, explaining how to apply it without the assistance of any software onto the design. this is followed by practical exercises to make sure the participants have understood and are able to apply the solar geometry. Lecture Presented by Philippe Saleh.
(Lecture should take about 30-45min followed by the practical exercise that should vary between 120-210min)
The project itself is launched once the teams have understood well the solar geometry. it will be a practical small sized project that has the solar geometry at its design core. the outcome will have either shaded or allowed the sun inside when needed to maintain minimum internal thermal comfort and thus reduce the energy for cooling and heating. the Outcome will be presented in a schematic/conceptual level only.
Each team will have one tutorial of approximately 60 minutes with one of the tutors on saturday (mid morning to early afternoon). After which teams will carry on working till presentation time on saturday evening.
